Dr. Kurt Bissinger » Bienvenidos! Welcome!

Bienvenidos! Welcome!

Update 10/27/2020: For new distance learners, my instructions and assignments will be posted to TEAMS.  Log into Office 365 from the SCHS website. Let me know if you haven't been added to my class in TEAMS. Also, if you have not used Remind yet, please find the code on the right for your class period and text it to 81010.

Welcome to Dr. Bissinger's Spanish class! I'm excited to start this school year whether you learning from home or in the classroom.
A little bit about myself: I grew up in Knoxville and moved to middle Tennessee in 2000. I earned my undergrad degree in Spanish from MTSU and began teaching English in Mexico. When I moved back here I started teaching Spanish in Metro. I went back to school during this time and earned a masters in teaching in 2009 and a doctorate in Educational Leadership in 2017. I left Metro for Rutherford County two years ago and love it here.

I mainly use Microsoft TEAMS for my assignments. Check there daily. I will use Mastery Connect for tests and quizzes. Go to student.masteryconnect.com when we have a written test or quiz. The test code will be found in TEAMS or sent via Remind. Find your Remind code to the right of this page and text it to 81010.

We will also utilize the online textbook Que Chevere. To access that, go to Clever from the school's website. Click on CL Passport in Clever and you will see your online textbook assignments. There will be a notification from Remind or on TEAMS when we use the textbook.

Check your grades regularly through Skyward using your assigned username and password.  If you need assistance with your login information, visit or call our attendance office (ext. 31507).

If this is your first time accessing Clever from home, you will need to put your entire email address in (username@student.rcschools.net) and your password that you always use to log into a computer at school (although passwords may have been reset to your student number).

Distance Learners:  During the Spring, posted lessons were “Optional”.  However, now that we are officially back in session and you are participating via Distance Learning, your virtual “attendance” is mandatory. This means you MUST participate in the online lessons, submit work for review and feedback, etc.

Contact me to obtain textbook information for this class.  You can access your Office 365 account by clicking here; the username and password are the same as your computer login at school.

Office Hours: Once signed up, you can send me a Remind at any point during your classtime (if you're distance learning) or at any point from 3:30-8:00pm (any students or parents). If Remind isn't sufficient, we will set up a Zoom meeting.
