JROTC

Welcome to the battalion
Stewarts Creek JROTC program was created in 2013. A main misconception about JROTC programs is that the main focus is joining the military. That couldn't be more untrue about our program here at SCHS. The Battalion's main focus is "Motivating Young People to Be Better Citizens", we do this by exposing our cadets to leadership opportunities, volunteering projects, and by giving them necessary information to succeed in life after high school, all with a military style background. This background allows for the cadets to be disciplined and organized with the tasks they are given and to grow as young adults.
The U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) is one of the largest character development and citizenship programs for youth in the world. The National Defense Act of 1916 established organized JROTC programs at public and private educational institutions. The JROTC program is designed to teach high school students the value of citizenship, leadership, service to the community, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment, while instilling in them self-esteem, teamwork, and self discipline. Here at Stewarts Creek High school, we work to uphold this standard by motivating cadets to improve the community around them, one mission at a time.
