Hello parents! The county has designated October 13th as a distance learning day to give schools the opportunity to introduce new DL students to the DL expectations and provide teachers time to address DL needs and prepare lessons. All students will remain hom on October 13th. In-person learners can work on any assignments given to them by their teachers, however, a laptop i s not required for this work. For our new distance learners, there is an agenda for this day that provides opportunities to access a Distance Learning Orientation video, attend Teacher Office Hours, and view our Distance Learning School and Student Commitment.
The agenda for the day will be as follows.
8:30 - 9:00 DL School and Student Commitment & DL Orientation
to access our Distance Learning Orientation video. Students will access this video using the link and review the DL commitments below and how to access DL platforms and resources. There are no structured activities for teachers to complete during this time.
9:15 - 10:15 Teacher Office Hours
Teachers will use this time as Office Hours to be available to Distance Learning students to engage with their teachers and/or ask questions. Student attendance is not mandatory but recommended. Individual teachers will post a Zoom or Teams link on their main landing page (Kiddom or Teams) to access these Office Hours.
10:15 - 3:30 Teacher Work Time
In-person learners may receive light practice/work from their teachers to complete at home. DL students will access normal online lessons as part of their weekly work.
