This Week's Events on the Band Calendar: 

Just a friendly reminder that all band members not at the RCS All-County Band will need to wear their black band shirts/blue jeans to school. Band members will be allowed to participate in any of the Coming Home festivities but will need to report to the band room by 2:00 PM. Please also make sure to bring your flip folder and marching instrument. Replacement black band shirts are $25.00.

 

Please note that the rehearsal times and locations for the middle school ACB participants are different on Thursday. Please also note that the arrival times are different on Friday (even though they are in the same location). We wanted to let everyone know for planning rides for students or for students driving siblings, etc. If there should be any issues with inclement weather that would impact the RCS All-County Band, we will communicate through text message.

 

We have just received our MTSBOA Concert Performance dates which will take place at MTSU. Due to the schoolwide ACT test we have shifted the ASR's for that week to coincide with our performances. Concert and Symphonic Band ASR will take place as scheduled on Monday, March 6 from 3:45 PM - 5:30 PM. The Concert and Symphonic Band performance at MTSU will take place in the afternoon on Wednesday, March 8.

 

The Wind Ensemble will now move their ASR to Thursday, March 9, from 3:45 PM - 5:30 PM. The Wind Ensemble will perform at MTSU on the afternoon of Friday, March 10. Specific performances times will be released as we get to the end of February. We would like to encourage all parents and family members to come out and support the band at these special performances. More information will be presented at the February 21 Assessment Concert at SCHS.

 

Just a friendly reminder that we ask students to notify us via text message if they are going to be absent from school. This helps us to ensure accurate attendance records for all the band members and is also a soft job skill that we are trying to teach students so that they will be successful in their communication skills with their future college or workforce professionalism.
