Balances should be at $200.00 remaining for new members/color guard and $100.00 for returning members. Remember that everyone new to the program is considered a new member, as well as 2nd year members who were new last year.

Parents: Trying to figure out how much you owe for class fees? Trying to figure out what has been paid so far? SCHS Band Member Activity Statements will be emailed out this week to the primary parent email on file. Your statement should have a list of all fees due, any past balances, any additional items billed to the account, and a record of all fundraising received to date. These statements will be emailed out monthly.  Always reach out if you have any questions.

Class Fees - Installment No. 2 - Due Friday, August 27
Class fees installments are due on the last Friday of each month. Installment No. 2 is due this Friday, August 27. Visit the SCHS Band Parent Portal to pay your class fees online or to access the fee schedule. You may also send cash, check, or money orders with your child to turn into the band room black box.

 

 

Here is your Monday Night Rundown for the week of August 16: 

 

There will be a materials check for a grade for all woodwind and brass players on Thursday. Band members who cannot secure a flip folder and lyre for their instrument must contact the band directors immediately so that arrangements can be made. These are mandatory for all pep rally's and games.

 

Band members will wear their black performance shirts and their choice of pants/shorts to school. Color Guard members will wear their rally uniforms to school. Please make sure students have ear plugs as these events are very loud and we want to protect the students hearing.

We've just started the first week of school and we look forward to helping the band members get into a solid routine. Here is your Monday Night Rundown for the week of August 9: 

 

After School Rehearsals (ASR's) This Week - 8/10 & 8/12
We start our ASR's this week. ASR's are an integral part to the success of the band. Remember ASR's are graded and members are expected to show up on time and prepared with their instruments and materials. A few reminders for success

• ASR's start at 4:15 PM and end at 6:30 PM. Band members should remain on campus as there will be no time to leave and return to campus. Band members should bring a light snack.
  
  
• Band members need to bring their water coolers to school. They can be stored in their lockers or in the band room. Students should fill their coolers with ice from home and then fill them with water before the ASR.
  
  
• It will be hot and band members have trained during band camp on how to handle the heat. Band members should bring clothes to change into (band camp attire is acceptable) along with tennis shoes.
  
  
• In the event that a band member is absent, parents should notify the band office by email at [email protected] as soon as possible. No-call/No-shows are not acceptable. Please consult the band handbook for more information on what constitutes an excused and unexcused absence.

Parents - Do you want to lower your out-of-pocket expenses for band class fees? Please consider participating in any or all of our three ongoing fundraisers. We have a Smart Card Sale, Contest Sponsorship, and Shop with Scrip. These fundraisers are designed to help families offset their out-of-pocket costs. While our SmartCard and Contest Sponsorship fundraisers are for a limited time, our Shop with Scrip is continuous. More information about these fundraisers were in your band registration packet, which can also be accessed at the Parent Portal of the SCHS Band website.

 

 

We had such a great turnout last Friday and it was great to see so many of you! We are beyond proud of the students and all they were able to accomplish during band camp. We hope to see everyone at a performance soon.

 

In the meantime here is your first Monday Night Rundown for the 2021-2022 school year. The Monday Night Rundown will be sent most Monday evenings as both an email and text. This information will be useful for band members and parents to plan the week accordingly. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
