School-Wide Announcements: IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT POSTPONED/RESCHEDULED EVENTS: 1. HAWKFEST 2024 HawkFest 2024 will NOW take place following our Move-Up Pep Rally Monday, May 13. https://tinyurl.com/hawkfest2024 2. SENIOR WALK The SCHS Senior Walk will NOW take place on Tuesday, May 14th, at 8:45am. For the Senior Walk, students should bring their cap/gown to school but leave tassels at home. Students should arrive on time to school (8:30 AM) and report to first block. At 8:45 AM, seniors will be dismissed to the theater where they will put on their caps/gowns and set up for the walk. Once the Senior Walk has completed, students will return to the theater. 3. GRADUATION PRACTICE Graduation practice, mandatory for seniors, will begin immediately after the Senior Walk. Seniors must be present for the entirety of the Graduation Practice in order to participate in the Graduation Ceremony. Jostens will be present at the conclusion of the practice for the purchase of cords/stoles for those seniors with Honors and/or Distinction.Once the Graduation Practice has completed, seniors exempt from third and fourth block exams (and with previous parent permission) will be dismissed from school. Those with exams and remaining on campus will have lunch and then take their third and fourth block exams. END OF YEAR LAPTOP RETURN All students must return their RCS issued laptop before the end of the school year. Device collection will take place in 1st period on Tuesday, May 14. *If you will be absent on collection day, please return it to your 1st period teacher the day before. You will not be promoted and Skyward will be deactivated if you haven't returned your device or paid for missing/damaged items. If the laptop, case, or charger is lost or damaged, see below for pricing to repair or replace it. You will need to bring cash or money order to the front office to pay for damaged or missing items. To prepare for laptop return, you must do the following:
Remove any installed programs and printers
Forget any personal WiFi networks
Remove any personal stickers or SCHS name/barcode labels (DO NOT REMOVE RCS BARCODE or other RCS tags)
Clean the device with an electronic wipe, if possible

If medicines are not picked up by dismissal time on 5/22/24, they will be DISCARDED.
Medications cannot be stored at the school during the summer and students are not allowed to take medications home themselves. (*Students 18 years of age or older may sign out their medicines and take them home.)
To pick up medication from the school:
Come to the school health office between the hours of 8:15-10:00 OR 2:00-3:30 pm.
The school nurse or medication administrator from the office will return the medication to you.
You will need to sign that you have received your child’s medicine
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TRACK & FIELD SHOUTOUT Tuesday, May 7, was a history making day for the Lady Red Hawks at the state qualifying TSSAA Section 2 Championships. We placed 3rd out of 20 teams, which is our highest team finish in school history. We had more ladies qualify for state than in any other year. We also qualified in a record number of events. Here is a list of qualifiers (you must finish in the top 4 to qualify): Bella King – 4x800, 1600 (2nd), 800 (2nd), 4x400 Camryn Merryman – High Jump (2nd), 4x800, 400 (1st), 4x400 Ava Creger – 4x800, 800 (3rd), 4x400 Kylie Gray – 4x800, 3200 (4th) Elizabeth Walter (RCVS) – Discus (3rd) Kyria Veazey – 4x400 The ladies 4x800 relay team were Sectional Champions and the 4x400 team placed 2nd. The gentlemen also had a successful day. Tim Alexander broke his own school record and brought home his 3rd Sectional Championship in the Pole Vault. Kai Mangrum won the 400 meters in a photo finish and Grady Harvey broke the school record and qualified in the Discus by finishing 4th. The 4x400 relay team (Gianluca Bello, Lorenzo Gilbert, Jeremy Smith, Kai Mangrum) also qualified with a 4th place finish.
If you see any of these amazing student-athletes, please congratulate them on their hard work, dedication, and amazing seasons, that are not finished yet!
Elizabeth and Grady became our first throwers in school history to qualify for the state meet, so if you see Coach Mike Davis, please congratulate him as well!

France & Spain 2024 Student & Adult Trip The final MANDATORY meeting for registered travelers will be on May 21st at 6:00 in the SCHS library. All travelers and a parent/guardian (if a student traveler) must attend.
