Stewarts Creek High School is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Jidong Zhong to its music faculty beginning Fall 2025. Dr. Zhong will serve as the school’s new class piano teacher and collaborative pianist, bringing a wealth of experience as both an educator and performer to the Stewarts Creek community.
Dr. Zhong joins SCHS from Maryland, where he most recently served as Choral Director at Long Reach High School and held dual roles as adjunct professor of piano and staff accompanist at Washington Adventist University, his undergraduate alma mater. He has also served as church pianist at The Foundry United Methodist Church in Washington, D.C.
A dedicated musician and scholar, Dr. Zhong holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from WAU and earned both his Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees in Piano Performance and Literature from the prestigious Eastman School of Music. His performance career has taken him to celebrated venues such as the Kennedy Center, Strathmore Mansion, and the Arts Club of Washington. He recently performed as collaborative pianist for Pro Musica of WAU at the 2024 ACDA Eastern Region Conference and was the first prize winner of the 2018 MTNA National Competition, Young Artist Piano Division.
