On Thursday, March 16, the Stewarts Creek Jazz Ensemble took the stage at the 2nd Annual Trevecca Jazz Festival. Throughout the day, students participated in clinics, seminars, and heard other area high school and middle school jazz ensembles perform. The day culminated with a jazz concert that evening featuring TNAZ Jazz and special guests.
Three Stewarts Creek students (pictured left to right), Sayler Clayton, Ryan Hines, and Rex Davis, received the Outstanding Musicianship Award for their jazz performance and improvisation skills.
"We are very proud of our students for their performance at the Trevecca Jazz Festival," said Debra Burton, band director at Stewarts Creek. "They played sophisticated literature, learned a lot from clinicians, and represented The Creek well."
