This year all high school students will be issued a school laptop to take home and bring back to school just like a textbook. Your student will receive their device from their first-period teacher. Please talk to your student about taking care of the device and remembering to charge their laptop before bringing it to school each day so they will be ready to use in class. Here is a presentation about device care that you may review with your student.
Rutherford County Schools offers a Device Protection Plan to cover any accidental damage or theft. Enrollment in this Device Protection Plan will alleviate the potential cost of repair and/or replacement that could result from accidental damage to your student's assigned device. The cost of the plan is $20 for the 23-24 school year. This is payable when the student is issued a laptop. Although you are not required to purchase the Device Protection Plan, families are strongly encouraged to consider its benefits. If you choose not to purchase this plan, you are liable for any damage or the cost of replacing the device, just as with any school-issued textbook or resource.
