New Faculty Join Fine Arts Academy

The administration and faculty of Stewarts Creek High School are excited to announce that Isabella Burnette (visual arts) and Johnathan Vest (music) will be joining the faculty of the Stewarts Creek Fine Arts Academy this fall.

“I can’t wait for our students to meet Mrs. Burnette and Dr. Vest,” said Dr. Clark Harrell, Principal of Stewarts Creek High School.  “Their experience and expertise speak for themselves, but most importantly they are each a great fit within the culture of collaboration and excellence upon which our Fine Arts Academy is built.”

New Fine Arts Faculty

Isabella Burnette

Mrs. Burnette joins Stewarts Creek High School as a Visual Arts teacher. Before she joined the team, she worked as a high school art teacher for two years, and a middle school art teacher for one year, both in upstate New York.


Mrs. Burnette was born and raised in upstate New York and received her bachelor’s degree in art education from Nazareth University and is working toward her Master’s degree from Empire State University. She lives in Antioch with her husband.

 

Johnathan Vest

Dr. Vest began his teaching career 26 years ago.  He has taught at the elementary and collegiate levels, and was most recently the Director of Choral Activities at Centennial High School in Franklin, TN, where he also taught Music History and AP Music Theory.  He holds degrees from Harding University, Middle Tennessee State University and the University of Alabama, and is certified in  Level I Kodaly and Level III Orff Schulwerk.

He also serves as a  staff pianist and singer for Christ United Methodist Church in Franklin, TN, He is a past board member of the Middle Tennessee Vocal Association, and served as the president of the Tennessee Music Education Association from 2016-2018. 
​
In 2020, he was named a Country Music Association (CMA) Music Teacher of Excellence, and was a Semifinalist for the  Grammy Music Teacher of the Year.  He is thrilled to be joining the amazing team at Stewarts Creek High School!
