Greetings SCHS Band Members and Families,

 

We hope that everyone found some time off over the holidays and that each of you are well. Though we start off the spring semester of 2021 with a sense of uncertainty, please know that we will plan accordingly once we have more information on what this next quarter will look like in terms of actual class scheduling.

 

With all plans this semester, it goes without saying that things can change in the blink of an eye. We will keep everyone informed along each step of the way. We ask that you continue to be flexible and patient as we move forward. Our chief concern is student and family safety first. To that end we will continue to abide by our band room COVID-19 procedures and protocols as set forth by RCS and Stewarts Creek High School.

 

In the meantime we will send out the list of assignments for this week on Tuesday (1/5). These assignments will only take a few minutes to complete and should not pose a burden. We will continue to use FlipGrid and SmartMusic as our two primary platforms for assignments through this semester. Students will be able to access their assignments in Kiddom and we will also list them on our Edlio page and through Remind text messaging.

 

As always please contact us if you have any questions about any assignments or any band activities or band related business. Remind text messaging is the fastest and preferred method but email is also fine as well. Students and parents should use the Remind text class codes. Please use [email protected] to contact us through email.

Here is your Monday Night Rundown for the week of November 9: (Week 5 of Q2)

SCHS Band Trip Status
We are in the process of trying to get a few items confirmed for the SCHS Band trip to Hollywood/LA which is now projected to take place in the Spring Semester of 2022. The projected time frame will be close to spring break. However RCS has not released the 2021-2022 academic calendar as of this email. In the meantime, for band members and their families who are already signed up for the trip. there is no further action to take at this time. For band members and their families who did not sign-up for the trip last year, we will have a new trip kick-off meeting (either virtual or in-person) at a later time next semester. As we continue to get information, we will keep everyone informed.

Tennessee Governor's School for the Arts
Band members currently in grades 10 or 11 who are interested in auditioning for the Tennessee Governor's School for the Arts should click the following link. Make sure to read the form correctly.
