About Me

This is my 22nd year of teaching high school English and coaching baseball and my sixth year at Stewarts Creek High School, and I am proud to be a Red Hawk. In 2002, I graduated with a BBS from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas, where I met my wife, Katie, and played baseball. I then received both a Master's and an Educational Specialist degree in School Leadership at MTSU in 2007 after moving to Tennessee from Texas. I graduated from Tennessee State University in the spring of 2023 with a doctorate degree in School Leadership (K-12). My dissertation studied the effects of punitive discipline and restorative justice on high school students.

In addition to teaching English and coaching baseball, I also teach Speech (Public Communication) and help sponsor the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Katie and I live in Murfreesboro with our three boys: Ryne (12), Greer (11), Hayes (10). We enjoy baseball, traveling, music, reading, outdoor adventures, and playing with our dogs, Sammie and Wrigley.
