We have been informed that this football game will be Siegel High School's homecoming. We do not have any additional information at this time. We are waiting to find out if the band will perform at halftime. Once we find out we will let everyone know.

Fundraising Event: The 41st Annual TN Division II State Marching Band Championship
Our biggest fundraising and service event of the year will be here soon. The SCHS Band has been chosen to once again host the 41st Annual Tennessee Division II State Marching Band Championship on Saturday, November 5, 2022. We have 22 high school bands from across the State of Tennessee who will compete to be one of the 10 bands selected for the night show and to win the Tennessee Governor's Cup. This is a required event for all band members. We ask that each family volunteer to work one shift. We will also ask for food and other donated items in the next weeks.
Senior Night Football Game - Friday 10/21/2022
Our senior night recognition will take place on Friday, October 21, 2022 in conjunction with our last home football game of regular season. More information about specifics will be shared as soon as we receive it.
ASR's After Fall Break
Just a friendly reminder that ASR's for marching season now take place on Thursday afternoon's from 4:15 PM - 6:30 PM.
Mid-State Concert & Jazz Band Audition Sign-Ups
We wanted to take a moment to put this on your radar. We will send a link for students to sign-up for Mid-State auditions this week. Each audition is $10.00 and students will be limited to up to four entries. Checks should be made payable to SCHS Band.

Tuesday 9/27 ASR - 4:15 PM - 5:30 PM
The band will end rehearsal early on Tuesday 9/27 at 5:30 PM so that students participating in the theater and choir performance can be ready for their 7:00 PM performance.
Homecoming Football Game - Thursday 9/29
This week's football game will take place on Thursday 9/29. This game is SCHS's homecoming and the band will not perform the normal half-time performance but will instead accompany the homecoming ceremonies that will take place at half-time.

Hot Weather Advisory This Week- Help Needed
This is a plea to all parents . . . we have SEVERAL students who for one reason or another are not bringing their water coolers (the ones needed for band camp and fall) to rehearsals. We make sure that the band members have access to the ice machines in the cafeteria and filtered water in all of the water fountains.
This week is going to be extremely hot. We will monitor the heat index and make adjustments as needed but we need the band members to do their part by being responsible for bringing their water coolers to rehearsal.

Home Game and Middle School Band Night - This Friday - 9/16/2022
The protocol for this week will work a little differently since we have a home game and middle school band night this Friday.
- When the 3:30 PM bell rings students will need to report to the band locker room to change into their red uniform shorts and black shirt and marching band shoes (color guard will change into their rally uniform).
- We will have a brief stadium rehearsal and sound check at 4:15 PM. Middle school students will join us at 4:45 PM.
- All high school (and middle school students) will be served a pizza dinner from Papa Johns at 5:30 PM.

The First Home Game of the Season - This Friday - 9/9/2022
We hope you share in our excitement of the first home football game this Friday as the Red Hawks take on Franklin High School. Home football games work a little differently than away football games:
- When the 3:30 PM bell rings students are dismissed from school. All students will need to leave campus to go home or to go and eat with other band members. There is no Friday meal for home games. There will also be no adult supervision between 3:45 PM and 5:30 PM as directors and band staff will leave campus as well.
- Doors to the school will reopen at 5:45 PM. Students will get dressed into their dress uniform and meet for inspection.
- Red uniform shorts and black marching band shoes will be distributed this week in class. These items, along with the black band shirt is what is worn under (and with) the dress uniform.

SCHS Band Spirit Wear Store Now Open - Closes in less than 24 hours!
The SCHS Band Spirit Wear Store will close at midnight on August 31. This means you have until 11:59 PM CDT on August 30 to make your final selections. Makes great gifts and something nice to wear at games and performances!
Private Lessons
A friendly reminder that we would like to see as many students take advantage of private lessons this year. We have an incredible resource of teachers on our campus. The new cycle of Mid-State music has just been released and we are encouraging every student to consider auditioning. At $1.00 per minute - lessons are an affordable investment in your child.
If you child is already taking private lessons with any of our campus instructors, please fill out this form too (if you have not already done so).
Absences from School and/or Rehearsals
We ask that students take a moment to send a text message (or an email) to the band office to let us know if they will be missing school or missing an ASR. Sometimes students will miss school for one reason or another but can and should attend their ASR. With students involved in multiple activities, we ask that students take a moment and let us know if they are going to be absent from class and/or an ASR. This helps us monitor attendance on Skyward as an added protection. Absences stated on the yellow conflict forms still need to be communicated through text message (or email) the week of the conflict.
