Please make sure that all student participants on the trip bring to school their Ziplock bag with their red shorts, black band shirt, and long black socks. This bag needs to have the band member's name on it. Those who have not already done so - This must be brought to the band room by tomorrow morning (3/19/2024). Also don't forget that we have an ASR tomorrow (3/19/2024) from 3:45 PM - 5:30 PM.

A special thank you to all parents, family members, and alums who came out to support the Stewarts Creek High School Band at the 85th Annual MTSBOA Concert and Sight-Reading Performance Assessments. Having an audience full of love and support is something that every band member who performed on that stage will remember. We will send out some additional follow-up about concert performance assessment at another time.

SCHS Bands - Freshmen Orientation Performance on Tuesday, March 12
The call time for woodwind, brass, and percussion sections will be 4:45 PM. Dress for the performance will be the black band shirt and blue or black denim pants without holes. The orientation will start at 5:30 PM and students will be dismissed from SCHS following the performance.

SCHS Bands - 7th Annual Assessment Preview Concert
We would like to invite everyone (friends, family, and alumni) to our performance assessment concert on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at 7:00 PM. The SCMS Band will perform first at 6:00 PM. The high school will follow at 7:00 PM.
University of Tennessee at Knoxville Wind Ensemble
We are also excited that the University of Tennessee at Knoxville's Wind Ensemble will join us for an in-class concert performance starting at 2:00 PM on February 28, 2024. They are doing a tour of three schools in Middle Tennessee. The other schools are Ravenwood High School and Franklin High School. Students will be coded as field trip and excused from classes to attend this performance starting during 4th block.
Washington DC Trip Meeting
Don't forget our trip meeting for all participants plus at least one parent representative, which takes place in the band room at 6:30 PM on Thursday, February 29.

Updated Band Student Activity Statements Sent
Updated copies of the most recent SCHS Band Activity Statement was issued late Monday afternoon (01/22/2024). Please let us know if you see an issue with your statement and we will be more than happy to look into it for you.
SCHS Band Rehearsal and Performance Calendar - Q3 & Q4 with Band Camp Dates
Please click the link below to access you copy of the SCHS Band Rehearsal and Performance Calendar for quarter 3 and quarter 4. Additionally, band camp dates are also listed. As a general rule, the SCHS Band does not schedule any summer activities at the end of May through the first week of July. This is to allow families to schedule vacations and summer camps that are not in conflict with the SCHS Band Camp dates.
New this semester - Every band member will be required to fill out a calendar acknowledgement form, which is electronic and is linked to the PDF of the calendar (either direct by link or by scanning the QR code). This will be due to the band office by Wednesday, January 31, 2024.
If a band member has a conflict or is requesting an excused absence, there is another link on the calendar that will allow students to put in a request for an excused absence. This is a new form and is submitted electronically as well. Both band members and the parent/guardian (based on which email the band members submits for the parent/guardian) will receive a copy of the request, as well as an email that will either approve or deny the request. We ask that any conflicts or requests for excused absences be submitted to the band office by Wednesday, January 31, 2024.
