Here is your Monday Night Rundown for the week of March 15: (Week 2 of Q4)

 

We are excited to announce that we are now able to return to performances with an audience. More information will be sent out through subsequent Monday Night Rundowns.

 

The plan is to have one more performance as a full band at the end of April. Utilizing current RCS Safety Guidelines, the concert will involve the entire band spread apart by 6ft in the main gym. Temperature checks will still take place for both students and audience. Seating will be limited to one side of the main gym and masks will be required. Seating capacity will be limited to 1/3 of gym seating capacity. We will not have tickets but family members will need to sign-up online in advance so that we can monitor capacity. This form will be sent at a later time.

 

On this concert we will also recognize our senior class of 2021, recognize our outstanding musicians who qualified for the all mid-state and all-state bands, and present our annual awards to select band members. Participation in this concert is optional for students who are classified as distance learners. As we've done each time, a survey will be sent out to our distance learning families to help us plan and to distribute music. As always please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Here is your Monday Night Rundown for the week of March 8: (Week 1 of Q4)

 

It's hard to believe that we are in the last quarter of this school year. No doubt we've arrived here with mixed emotions. In any case we are currently in the process of finalizing dates for the end of the school year as well as dates for band camp and beyond for the 2021-2022 school year. The hope is to send out a performance calendar for Quarter 4 by this time next week. Please be on the lookout for it in the next Monday Night Rundown. 

There are no assignments due this week.

Gig Sheet: Concert Video Taping
Monday, March 1, 2021

• Freshmen Concert Band: 3:30 PM dressed. Meet in the band room. For those being dropped off, please enter from the front of the school. Please be aware that traffic on campus is congested from 3:10 PM - 3:45 PM. You will be dismissed by 5:15 PM. Pick-up will take place at the main gym entrance (where buses pick-up/drop-off).
  
  
• Symphonic Band: 4:45 PM dressed. Meet in the band room. Please enter through the main gym entrance. Drivers may park in the lot closest to the main gym entrance. You will be dismissed by 6:15 PM. Pick-up will take place at the main gym entrance (where buses pick-up/drop-off).
  
  
• Wind Ensemble: 6:00 PM dressed. Meet in the band room. Please enter through the main gym entrance. Drivers may park in the lot closest to the main gym entrance. You will be dismissed by 7:30 PM. Pick-up will take place at the main gym entrance (where buses pick-up/drop-off). 

• Pants do not need to be dress pants. Any kind of black pants without holes will suffice.
  
  
• Shoes do not need to be dress shoes. They should be black or as dark colored as possible and should be closed-toe.

• For band members who wear make-up: please keep it natural and not "theatrical". Please make sure that fingernail polish is either removed or is clear/natural looking.
  
  
• Jewelry may be worn as long as it is conservative and professional looking.
  
  
• For band members with facial hair: you do not need to be clean shaven but please look neat and trimmed.

 

Here is your Monday Night Rundown for the week of February 22: (Week 8 of Q3)

 

We hope that everyone has had a safe and productive week off from school. While it was nice to have some time off, it is now time to gear-up for our concert video taping and recording. As many of you may recall, when we sent the calendar out at the beginning of quarter 3, we included back-up dates for things like weather related or school-wide shutdowns. Our video taping will now be moved to our back-up date of Monday, March 1.

As usual here is copy of our performance calendar for the remainder of quarter 3. Remember that the times for Monday, March 1 will vary slightly then what was originally posted on the link below.

Here is your Monday Night Rundown for the week of February 15: (Week 7 of Q3)

 

The winter weather is here. We hope that all band members and their families remain safe. Based on current weather information, it may be some time before we are back to school. We want to make sure that band members are prepared for their video taping which is scheduled for next Monday, February 22.

 

So far we have not had to use any of our back-up dates for the dress rehearsals. Please double check the calendar for our upcoming recording date and the back-up date. The calendar link is below for your convenience.

Here is your Monday Night Rundown for the week of February 8: (Week 6 of Q3)

 

We had great dress rehearsals last week and it was great to see so many of the band members in their respective concert ensembles. Many of these students have not played in a concert setting since last March. Our next big adventure will be the video taping and recording scheduled for late February. Please refer to the calendar link below for your reference.

Here is your Monday Night Rundown for the week of February 1: (Week 5 of Q3)

 

We had a great dress rehearsal today with the Freshmen Concert Band. We see the members of the Symphonic Band on Tuesday, Feb. 2, and the Wind Ensemble on Wednesday, Feb. 3. All rehearsals take place from 3:45 PM until 5:00 PM.

 

Students who are driving should park in the band parking lot (where the marching band has rehearsal in fall) and enter through the gym entrance to the school. Please be careful as buses will be coming in and out of that area. 

 

Students who are being dropped off should enter the school from the front where the car riders get picked up. Enter the school as if going into the main office but instead head to the band room. 

 

Students may be picked up at the gym entrance of the school at the conclusion of rehearsal.
